Just because the jws are wrong it doesnt mean there's no god. = correct

l;ve been giving this some serious consideration lately.l dont have all the answers no one does.we are all entitled to our opinions.l certainly dont believe in evolution as lve researched that subject extensively.lt's important to believe in something even if its for mental health.l believe everything happens for a reason.l also believe if we all live as close to the 10 commandments as possible this world would be a far better place to live and no one can argue with that.

my dad was recently made an elder about maybe 6 months ago, and now he is never around he's always at work or doing some kind of jw crap.
now he conducts the watchtower study and is even doing the special talk tommorow.
he's become an even more strict controlling jerk than he was before, and i'm never allowed to go out and do anything non jw related because he doesn't have the time.
Was your dad an accidental elder or was he reaching out and wanting it?
If he was an accidental elder then it might well be worth your time to have an adult conversation with him (choose your timing damn well) and kindly lay it out that you are concerned for his well being (you are, honestly you are!) that he will burn out and his family is / will suffer, and that you think he is not being fair to his family who should come first. You are though obviously only saying these things because you care deeply about him, (but dont lay it on too thick or he'll know it's not true.)
It has to be framed correctly and delivered without judgement only concern and kindness.
It might make him worse that is a gamble mind, but if he senses you are on his side and looking out for him it might work. If he thinks you are doing it for your benefit he will likely resist.

Console yourself in knowing it's bollocks so young and that you wont be wasting the best years of your life serving this vile cult just as soon as you are old enough to get away from it.
There is of course the "no" word. Gradually ramp up it's usage according to your circumstances.
although it is titled as "britain branch report" it's not much of a report.
it only goes for just over 6 minutes and half of it is some 'wild talk' about romeo and juliette, i say wild talk because it has nothing to do with the british branch and if there was any point to it, it's lost on me.. anyway, about the only thing said that is of any importance was this (at the 2.20 mark) -.
"the governing body, very kindly, have given us permission to continue construction once we have reviewed the scope of the building so we hope to be underway very soon".
Half of it = parlance for an unnecessary amount, not a measurement of time or weight.
there is a problem with the like and dislike buttons.
depending on what source you are using it is easy to vote more than once on the like or dislike.. i noticed this initially on my tablet touchscreen.
if i tap quickly & continuously click on the like/dislike button, it will register as multiple votes, the same happens on my laptop when i do the same thing with my mouse but this method doesn't register as many votes.it is only a matter of time for others to pick up on this and there may be some who are already aware of this.
Well, i'll sleep easier at night knowing that thanks simon.
May the old gods and the new have mercy on my soul.....
i was reading the thread "problem with likes/dislikes" and i don't understand the issue.
if you don't want your posts disliked, all you do go to your profile and uncheck the box next to the option that says "allow my posts to be rated.
" unfortunately this removes the options to have your posts liked as well but it's fair when you think about it.
Well maybe you dont see the dislikes piling up there but we do...

Personally i never saw the point of the like / dislike and wished simon would either fix it so it is much harder to hit the wrong one or else got rid of it entirely.
I was being tongue in cheek with my "gee why dont you" line btw...

Gee just shout it out for all to hear why dont you?, I've been double clicking on like and dislike since accidentally discovered it. Didnt know about the tablet multiple clicks though...
I use it as a expression of degree, if i like something a lot 2 clicks, if i like something a bit 1 click, if i dislike something a lot 2 clicks, if i dislike something a bit 1 click. Works for me.
so sad.
i love europe.
i love going there not as a tourist, but just blending in and spending time with locals in non-touristy local gems.. islam seems to be spreading their religion of peace throughout the continent.
36 dead in Brussels this week, with probably the largest 3rd bomb that didnt detonate, so it would have been much higher.
This is an islamic problem, they should be the ones coerced into solving it.
some 25 years ago when i was an active teenager in the congregation there was this elder's teenage son that acted out sexually at a young age.
the elder's son i believe was molested over a short period of time at a very young age by another elder whose wife was dying of cancer.
the reason why i suspect it is because this elder was caught and discipline "privately" for touching the breast of a 15 year girl in our congregation.
